Stiftung Starke Residency - berlin

The Starke Foundation supports artists under the age of 35 in the realization of their ideas and projects on their path to success. For a period of 3-12 months, the foundation will provide those artists selected with residential and working premises. The residency culminates in the opportunity to present the projects and pieces created during the residency to the public in an exhibition in the Lowenplais gallery. Click here for more information. A biennial marketplace and festival platform for communicating and networking in the field of contemporary dance happening August 25-28, 2010. At the Tanzmesse international dance companies and artists present their work live on stage and choreographers, dancers, agencies, presenters and cultural institutions worldwide network and co-operate in a lively marketplace. The internationale tanzmesse nrw also includes a program of lectures and discussions, and hosts numerous international gatherings and meetings. The Tanzmesse is a project of the nrw landesbuero tanz, based in Cologne, Germany.

Sumu Residency for New Media Artists

The Sumu Residency, in Turku, Finland, is for new media artists, working in the intersection of new technologies and contemporary art. This includes performance art and all types of new media: sound art, video art, installations, etc. Artists can apply to the residency once a year with an individual submission, which should include CV, samples of recent work and a project plan. Residency periods are from one to three months, and artists are offered a studio as well as accomodation. Click here for more information.

healing dance and Percussion workshop in southern italy

Alessandra Belloni announces the 10th anniversary of her workshop, Rhythm is the Cure. Set in La Chiara di Prumiano, a beautiful 17th century villa set high in the rural hills of Tuscany's Chianti Classico vineyards, this 7-day intensive (Aug 22-29) features Southern Italian ritual dances used as music and dance therapy for centuries throughout the Mediterranean. International Physical Theatre Laboratory
