Executive Director, The Staunton Performing Arts Center

The Staunton Performing Arts Center, a non-profit organization located in Staunton, VA, is currently seeking an Executive Director. Duties include planning, directing, and managing day-to-day activities for the continued development and execution of the Capital Campaign to restore the historic Dixie Theater, designed by John Eberson, to its 1936 art moderne style and to operate it as a versatile, aesthetically pleasing facility for the community and surrounding region. Upon completion of the Capital Campaign, duties will shift to supervision of the renovation project and management of the Staunton Performing Arts Center facility. The successful applicant will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as organization and management skills. Experience in fundraising and facility management and complete computer fluency are required. Fellowship, Dance/USA

Dance/USA announces its Fellowship Program. Committed to leadership development in the professional field of dance, Dance/USA offers its first Fellow the opportunity to work in the organization’s Membership Department. The Membership Fellow will work 20 hours per week (from March to May) and 35-40 hours (from May to August). During your Fellowship, you will be integral to the operations of Dance/USA’s Membership Department by communicating with members and non-members on a regular basis, serving as point of contact for two to three special projects within the Department, and assisting the Director in hiring a summer intern. Additionally you will have the opportunity to write an article for our e-Journal, From the Green Room. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Dance

West Chester University’s Department of Theatre and Dance is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position in dance beginning in August 2012. Qualifications: M.F.A. or Ph.D. in Dance, a minimum of two years of experience teaching at the university level, and must demonstrate strong teaching ability, a record of successful creative endeavors, and potential for research activities. Successful candidates will have experience teaching a cross-cultural and/or inter-disciplinary form of dance and demonstrate knowledge in at least two of the related dance fields listed above. Candidates who have earned additional certifications or training in dance related fields are desirable. Applicants must successfully complete the interview process to be considered a finalist.
