Since its inception in 1963, Pennsylvania Ballet has been at the forefront of dance in America and is widely regarded as one of the premier ballet companies in the nation. The School and Company were established by Barbara Weisberger, a Balanchine protégé through a Ford Foundation initiative to develop regional professional dance companies. During its first decade, the Company forged the unique identity for which it is still known today: a diverse classical repertoire with a Balanchine backbone performed by versatile dancers whose energy and exuberance are the Company's enduring signature. A leader in the regional ballet movement of the 60s, the Company performed in the national spotlight for the first time in 1968 at City Center in New York

DANCE PASS

DancePass is a program designed to support Philadelphia dance professionals so they can participate more fully in the lively city they have helped to create. By partnering with presenters, producers, and now restaurateurs and other businesses we are able to offer many discounts to DancePass holders. Every Tuesday an email is sent to DancePass holders notifying them about that week’s performance discounts. Discounts vary and are at the discretion of the venue/presenter. The 08-09 DancePass is effective July 1, 2008 – June 30, 2009.

New! Community Access IMac Computer
Starting July 15, 2008, DancePass holders are also granted complimentary use of the Dance/USA Philadelphia Community Access IMac which is equipped with InDesign CS3, Photoshop CS3 Extended, Illustrator CS3, Acrobat 8 Professional, Flash CS3 Professional, Dreamweaver CS3, Adobe Bridge CS3, Version Cue CS3, Device Central CS3, Photoshop Elements 4.0 MAC, Power Point 2008 for MAC, and Wikispaces Plus Plan. Up to three hours time can be reserved on the IMAC by contacting us at admin@danceusaphiladelphia.org or calling 215-922-5970.

Eligibility: DancePass program is available only to members of the Philadelphia professional dance community - artists, administrators, educators, technicians, etc. Professional activity must fall within the last 12 months to qualify. There is an $10 registration fee.
